While making this project, one of the more difficult problems to solve was the outline, as it plays a big part to the art style. In the end, I’ve discovered there are multiple ways to achieve the outline inside ZBrush.
During the stage of polypaint, it was crucial to me to be able to see the outline as I paint, so I needed the outline to be in real-time, and that is where the SkinShade Material comes in. The reason to use SkinShade as a starting point because it allows the polypaint come through fairly well.
